Buick and GMC at the 2019 North American International Auto Show

NAIAS | Liberty Lake, WA

The 2019 North American International Auto Show took place in January from the 14th to the 27th in Detroit, where refreshed models, concept vehicles, and innovative new technologies across the entire auto industry were revealed for the first time.

As one of the biggest auto shows in the world, the NAIAS is the place to be for the latest cars, SUVs, and trucks, especially from GM brands like Buick and GMC. Neither Buick nor GMC released a new concept at the Detroit Auto Show, but they did show off the new versions of their popular lineups.

Buick showed off the ultra-luxurious Avenir line, which takes Buick’s premium vehicles and elevates them even further. The Enclave Avenir, Regal Avenir, and Lacrosse Avenir have a vehicle style for everyone while providing the latest features, unbeatable comfort, and smooth, powerful performance.

The GMC lineup was also presented at the Detroit Auto Show, though it’s rumored that GMC plans the debut the 2020 GMC Sierra HD Denali at the Chicago Auto Show in February.

GMC teased the all-new Sierra HD with a video released during the NAIAS, showing styling similar to the Sierra 1500, with the same platform and powertrains as the 2020 Silverado 1500. Sporting the exclusive MultiPro tailgate, the upcoming Sierra Denali HD promises state-of-the-art tech and performance.

Here at George Gee Buick GMC, we can’t wait to learn more about the upcoming lineup of Buick and GMC vehicles.

Visit the Bing Crosby House this Holiday Season

Bing Crosby House

Without realizing it, many of us know Bing Crosby’s voice exceedingly well. Crosby is one of the most famous holiday singers of all time, and his rendition of “White Christmas” is the best-selling single of all time, boasting over 50 million sales. His single “Silent Night” also makes this elite list, ranking as the third best-selling single ever with 30 million sales. This holiday season, pay homage to this American favorite by visiting the Bing Crosby House in Spokane, Washington.

The Bing Crosby House was built by the singer’s father and two uncles in 1911. Bing spent his childhood living in the home, and now it stands as a tribute to his memory with its collections. On the main floor, the home presents the Bing Crosby Collection, which includes over 200 items of significance. You can view Bing’s gold records, various trophies and awards, and even the official Academy Award he received in 1944 for his performance in Going My Way.

A visit to the house with the family is the perfect way to shed some light on your favorite Christmas songs and teach your children a bit about America’s top performers of the twentieth century. Admission is free to the public, and the house is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Here at George Gee Buick GMC, we hope your holiday season is both merry and bright.

2019 Buick Regal Avenir Joins Buick’s Top-Tier Luxury Lineup

2019 Buick Regal Avenir

Since the introduction of the Buick Avenir trim level, Buick drivers have been excitedly embracing the new line of luxury models for the truly exceptional experience they offer. Buick drivers now have even more to be enthusiastic about, as the 2019 Buick Regal is getting an Avenir trim level. This is particularly good news for luxury drivers who want to enjoy all the benefits of the Avenir line but who prefer something smaller than the Enclave crossover or the full-size LaCrosse Sedan. The 2019 Regal TourX Wagon will not receive an Avenir trim this year.

Some of the most appealing features of the 2019 Regal Avenir include its nine-speed automatic transmission, 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels, self-leveling and cornering headlamps, premium leather upholsterer, an advanced 8-inch infotainment touchscreen display, and a premium eight-speaker Bose audio system. Apart from these features, we also expect the 2019 Regal Avenir will come with distinctive badging and a three-dimensional mesh grille.

Another popular aspect of the Avenir models is the standard feature packages that improve every aspect of the driving experience. The 2019 Regal Avenir will come standard with the Buick Driver Confidence I Package, which includes four-way lumbar adjustment, heated outside mirrors, and an array of driver-assist features like Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist.

How to Get Your Car Ready for Winter

How to Prepare Your Car For Winter

Winter is right around the corner, bringing with it cold weather, snow, and ice, all intent on doing damage to your car. That is why it is imperative that you take some time now to get your car ready for winter. Here are a few tips on how to do so:

  • Have your battery tested.

Bring your car into George Gee Buick GMC, and we’ll gladly test your battery. Having a weak battery in the winter can lead to a car that won’t start, which is never fun, especially not when it’s cold outside.

  • Check your tires.

Make sure the tread on your tires is good enough to survive until spring. It’s also a good idea to rotate them (and get that oil changed now) before heading into winter. Remember to frequently check their air pressure as well.

  • Test your heater, defroster, and lights.

Make sure your heater and defroster work efficiently before the temperatures drop. Now that it’s getting darker sooner, check all your lights—taillights, brake lights, headlights, and more—to ensure you’ve got good visibility this winter.

  • Replace your wiper blades.

Avoid a streaky windshield during the blizzards by replacing old wiper blades now.

Need help prepping your car for winter? Bring it into George Gee Buick GMC for service. We’re happy to help!
